Short Band Story

About the RAMBLING BLUES TRIO

The bandleader of this Hungarian acoustic band called Vajk Király started to play alone in 1993. He was only 18 years old when he was invited to an international blues festival in Ada, Yugoslavia. Later he met a harmonica player - Tamás Hrabovszky, and a female singer - Anetta Tóth: it was the birth of the Rambling Blues. Since 1996 they have been playing with a percussionist - Csaba Szabó but ufortunately without Anetta.
They play a lot in Hungary, but also play abroad (Yugoslavia, Italy, Germany, etc.) in clubs, pubs and festivals - and in the past years this little band became one of the most famous acoustic blues bands in Hungary.
In their repertoire there are songs mostly from the great American blues players of the twenties and thirties (ragtime blues, country blues, delta blues and traditional pieces), but they're "rambling", when they want - a few Hawaiian songs, some Chicago blues, or own songs. Some of their favourit entertainers: Blind Boy Fuller, Bo Carter, Blind Blake, Mississipi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters.
In 2000 they recorded their first own CD - the "Tissassippi".
