A classmate of mine met him around 1991 - I was still a high school student. All I know about him is that he came from England with a single guitar and a satchel, traveled around Europe and played music wherever he could. My classmate asked him to record a few songs for him on tape. He made it happily, and I have these four songs even today (Cocaine Blues, Evil Blues, Dust My Broom, Preachin' Blues).
It was on this recording that I heard about the fingerpicking technique and at first I didn't want to believe that only one guitar was playing. So I learned a song note by note. Then another and soon I got the taste of it.
We invited Bee to our high school to give a concert but for some reason he couldn't make it. He wrote a card to say that he can only come a week later. he never showed up. Afterwards all I heard about him is that he died within a year - maybe in Hungary. If anyone knows more about him, please let me know!
